Yoga is not something I do. It is something I live.

My work is rooted in lived experience, disciplined study, and an ongoing inquiry into what it truly means to live well physically, mentally, and emotionally, in the world we inhabit today.

I am Ajay Babbar — a yoga practitioner, educator, and mentor.

For over a decade, my journey has moved away from mass instruction toward a more personal, intentional form of teaching. What began as traditional classroom-based yoga evolved, through experience and self-inquiry, into private mentorship, small groups, workshops, and retreats.

This shift was not strategic, it was necessary.

I realised that meaningful transformation does not happen in crowds. It happens when practice is personal, contextual, and guided with care.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Yoga today often exists at two extremes — either reduced to physical fitness or elevated into mysticism that feels inaccessible.

I stand in the middle.

Yoga, as taught in classical texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, is a functional philosophy — meant to be lived, not merely practised.

It must serve the person, their body, their mind, and their current stage of life.

This belief forms the foundation of everything I teach.

The Person Comes First

No two individuals share the same body, history, or conditioning.

My work follows the principle of Viniyoga — adapting the practice to the person, not the person to the practice.

Using a Person–Purpose–Practice framework, I assess what is appropriate, supportive, and sustainable for each individual.

This approach is especially relevant in addressing modern challenges such as burnout, stress, anxiety, and psychosomatic imbalance.

Studying philosophy with Ajay has been one of the most enriching experiences of my training. He is a teacher of genuine wisdom with a special gift for making yoga philosophy come to life. What I value most is his generosity and constant willingness to share everything he knows; he manages to make complex concepts feel accessible and applicable to daily life. If you are looking to deepen your understanding of the essence of yoga beyond the poses, learning from him is an absolute must. Thank you, Ajay, for sharing your light and knowledge!

I had the good fortune of meeting Ajay Babbar in 2017 on a yoga retreat for teachers . Our connection was instant because once we started talking about yoga practices and ways of teaching , we could not stop . We realised our passion of Yoga went far deeper than just mastering
“a headstand”.
Ajay is deeply passionate about Yoga as a therapeutic and healing practice for the mind , body and spirit . He spends his time traveling around South East Asia to deepen his knowledge and understanding of Yoga . His classes are focused on Yin Yoga where he blends in classical Hatha yoga as well. He works with people from all cultures and backgrounds to deliver the essence of traditional Yoga to help them ease stress and tension from their minds and bodies . He makes his teachings relevant to modern times while keeping the essence and traditions of Yoga in place . He’s a bundle of knowledge, compassion and wisdom. A good teacher doesn’t just deliver content but embodies it and Ajay is that teacher for me .
